Gladewater sits along U.S. Highway 80 and U.S. Highway 271, with Interstate 20 passing just south of the city to connect residents eastward to Longview and westward toward Dallas, while Tyler lies to the southwest. The city's rail heritage remains visible in the lines that first carried its boom-town growth, and regional air service is available at East Texas Regional Airport near Longview.
